{"id":68285,"date":"2023-09-27T15:43:22","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T15:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/person\/monicacreativecommons-org\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T17:14:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T17:14:08","slug":"monicacreativecommons-org","status":"publish","type":"person","link":"https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/person\/monicacreativecommons-org\/","title":{"rendered":"Monica Granados"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Monica Granados is the Director of Open Science where she <span aria-hidden=\"true\">leads CC&#8217;s Open Science Portfolio working with researchers, librarians, consortia, policy makers, and other stakeholders in scholarly communication to equip them with education and training about our licences so that they can implement open science practices and increase access to knowledge within their communities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>While doing her PhD in ecology at McGill University, Monica discovered that incentives in academia promote practices that make knowledge less accessible leading her to devote her career to making knowledge more equitable and open. Prior to coming to CC, Monica worked at Environment and Climate Change Canada as a Senior Policy Advisor on the Open Science Team.
