Since its creation in 2001, Creative Commons (CC) has helped release nearly 5 million digital open images of cultural heritage held in cultural heritage institutions using CC tools. We have also been promoting open culture to build a more equitable, accessible, and innovative world, and it is based on this rich experience that our <\/span>Open Culture program<\/span><\/a> now supports <\/span>better sharing<\/span><\/a> of cultural heritage globally.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, we are proud at CC to announce the publication of <\/span>Towards better sharing of cultural heritage \u2014 A Creative Commons Call to Action to Policymakers<\/i><\/b><\/a>, a simple, concise, and accessible resource that aims to support policymakers with key arguments to reform policy \u2014 in particular copyright \u2014 to achieve better sharing of cultural heritage in the public interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Drafted by a small group of open culture advocates of the <\/span>Creative Commons Copyright Platform<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Open Culture Platform<\/span><\/a> \u2014 Shanna Hollich (CC US), Emine Ozge Yildirim (KU Leuven), Maarten Zeinstra (CC Netherlands) and Brigitte V\u00e9zina (Director of Policy and Open Culture) \u2014 this resource:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
